This position will report to the R&D Technical Manager of the AgriChemWhey research project and will be based in Lisheen, Moyne, Co. Tipperary The Scientist will be responsible for scale up fermentation processes from Pilot to industrial commercial scale. In addition the candidate is expected to lead all fermentation practices at Pilot Scale, drive all fermentation related continuous improvement and create a best-in-class fermentation process for the AgriChemWhey project. To fulfil these responsibilities, the Scientist will provide technical leadership to the broader team consisting of technicians, assistant scientists, scientists, and senior scientists. The applied research will involve all aspects of the manufacturing process which includes, but is not limited to, upstream, fermentation & downstream processing including mass balance analysis, Emphasis is placed on improving product performance (i.e. increasing fermentation yield, enhancing cell counts, reducing cost, nutrient optimisation and stability of fermentation process.
