Cleaner/Groundskeeper –  located in Firhouse Family Hub – Tallaght,  Dublin 24 The Cleaner/Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep and care for the building and the grounds ensuring general communal areas are kept clean and the gardens are maintained to the highest standards (Job Description Attached) Terms: Fixed Term Contract – 39 hours per week - Monday to Friday JOB DESCRIPTION Respond is the largest housing association in Ireland providing social housing and homeless services. We are building our team of people with ambition and ability to achieve our aim to meaningfully address the housing and homelessness crisis Ireland. Role: Cleaner/Groundskeeper Location: Firhouse Family Hub, Tallaght, Dublin 24 Reporting to: Terms: Service Manager Fixed Term Contract– Full Time (39 Hours per week) Job Purpose: To upkeep and care for both the building and the grounds ensuring general communal areas are kept clean and the gardens are maintained to the highest standards. Core duties and responsibilities:  Refuse management – putting out bins. Taking care of all aspects of dealing with waste in an environmentally friendly manner. Keeping the development litter free.  Gardens – maintenance and upkeep, replanting programme.  To carry out light maintenance duties e.g. painting, minor repairs etc.  To ensure all communal areas including public bathrooms are maintained to the highest standards.  Clean units when tenants moves on, strip beds, clean bathrooms, hoover and wash floors, complete hygiene report.  To be flexible, organised and efficient.  Other relevant duties as directed by Management  To ensure confidentiality will be maintained at all times. Person specification:  Good understanding of building trades including, carpentry, plumbing, electric, roofing etc. sufficient to discuss individual projects with sub-contractors and ensure quality work by inspection.  Enthusiastic with a keen interest in gardening.  Previous experience in similar role would be advantageous  The ability to communicate effectively with Residents and other Respond staff  Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team  Full driving licence and access to own transport desirable  Garda Vetting will be required on an ongoing basis To apply:  Please email CV and cover letter recruit@respond.ie clearly stating which position being applied for.
